Tuesday Running Man: Episode 172, MT with Ryu Hyun Jin and Suzy!

This episode's guests are Ryu Hyun Jin and Suzy. The concept for this episode is MT or Management Training, an outing or field trip usually done in college or by colleagues in work which might be equivalent to a 'team-building' trip.

Last week's episode stopped at the EXO-Running Man hide-and-seek game so we'll start from there.

Yoo Jae Suk courageously went after these two EXO members with only a few seconds left before the change of roles takes effect. Fortunately, he was able to make these two out before that happened.

Kwang Soo immediately got out after that and then when it was Running Man's turn to chase again, they eventually caught all of the EXO members and then won the game. The Running Man team earns 2 balls for winning against EXO and now the members who have the balls are Ji Hyo, Yoo Jae Suk, Kim Jong Kook, and Gary. These balls allowed them to choose a door which eventually will affect their fate for the upcoming missions with Ryu Hyun Jin and Suzy.

Gary was the only one to choose the B door and Ji Hyo, Jae Suk and Jong Kook all chose the A door.

On the next day of shooting, we have the betrayers' club in one group, since they weren't able to get a baseball. They're now the C team.

Ji Hyo, Jae Suk, and Jong Kook, being in the A team, gets to be team mates with Ryu Hyun Jin. However, Ryu Hyun Jin must pick two members to be team mates with since there should only be three members in a group. He chose Ji Hyo and Jong Kook over Jae Suk.

Ryu Hyun Jin became shy when Suzy came out, and so these pabo trio are teasing him that he likes her. (which was hilarious by the way)

Before starting the shoot, they went ahead and got their baseball caps (which was given by Hyun JIn himself) signed by Ryu Hyun Jin. Yoo Jae Suk, being the prankster that he is, signed Kwang Soo's cap instead.

Teams A and B are in just one car, and it seems like it's the "couple car" since Hyun Jin-Suzy pair and Monday Couple are in it. Jae Suk also remarked that Jong Kook and him are the teachers who're accompanying them in their MT.

This pabo trio, as I'd like to call them from now on, are apparently getting weirder because of their loneliness in their 6-seater car.

While in the car, Hyun Jin told some stories about his baseball career in the US.

Remember Architecture 101, a movie in which Suzy starred in? Now, there's a Baseball 101 too! Suzy is not much of a baseball fan and so she got Hyun Jin to explain to her what a "shutout" means in a baseball game. (of course, with the OST of Architecture 101 playing in the background)

Their first game is somehow complicated to explain, and it involves warm water in a huge bowl.

Suzy even had a hard time explaining the game to Hyun Jin, who didn't actually got the mechanics of the game when it was explained earlier.

So the game is like this: they must dip their faces in the water and then one must start the game by shouting "1!" after getting out of the water. The game will continue by counting, however, when two or more people count simultaneously, they're both out.

Suzy team got first place, betrayers' club second, and Hyun Jin's team last.

For the next game, we see Kwang Soo transforming into Kwang Ja again.

This is the protect the queen game, and we usually see this being played in Running Man. The rule is to protect the queen, or the lady in the team and if one male member is left in the game together with the queen, he will be invincible. Once the queen is out, the team loses.

Hyun Jin showcased his pitching skills in this game by throwing accurately at the queens. (Yes, even at Suzy)

He even made Gary fall down with his throw. Hahaha.

There's also a special round where the couples fight each other (even when they're in separate groups). Meaning, Suzy-Hyun Jin, Monday Couple, and Kwang Ja-Jae Suk will be playing. Kwang Ja ended the game uninterestingly, which was also funny because it just ended like that (well, it made the extra game kind of meaningless. Hahaha).

The teams eventually got their MT budget money depending on how they performed in the previous games.

By this time, it was revealed that Hyun Jin will be playing "Ryumes Bond" in the final mission location.

He's also equipped with a water gun, much like Yoomes Bond (Yoo Jae Suk) in his spy missions. Hyun Jin's mission is to get everyone out by shooting ink on each of the members' name tags. If he wins, then he gets all of the MT budget money.

The final mission is in a guise of a "MT cooking battle" which generated disapproval among the members. Jae Suk said that in MT's, they don't cook because they're too tired to do so after a day of having fun. What they don't know is that it's just a way to conceal the real mission, which is to eliminate all of them (by Hyun Jin).

These three went to shop for ingredients for the "cooking battle."

And yet they ate before going shopping. (which looks so delicious btw)

In the market, Hyun Jin tried to shoot Haha's name tag, which at first was a failure, but then he got to do so after his second try.

Back in the main location, they're trying to make bbopki while waiting for the ingredients. They even managed to make it into a beautiful flower.

After they're done with shopping, they went to a different store to eat ddeokbokki and soondae. (so yummy. I'm so jealous)

Hyun Jin bought Suzy some bungeoppang and gave it to her, but then someone was in the way when he did it. So they went ahead and did a second take, and this time, Suzy exaggerated her reactions by saying "O~mo" in a really cheesy way, which then made everyone laugh in disbelief.

Hyun Jin did the mission one by one, while doing errands away from the main location so as to avoid being caught. He shot Jong Kook while washing vegetables.

Kwang Soo was shot while they were digging some vegetables.

Suzy was also shot while getting vegetables from the nearby patch.

These three married ahjussi's arguing about the taste of the food.

Ji Suk Jin getting a back hug from Hyun Jin, but it's just Hyun Jin's way of getting rid of the residue ink from shooting Suk Jin's name tag.

Jae Suk putting the magic ingredient since his Family Outing days, the ramyun packet.

Hyun Jin is getting much better at shooting, and so he was able to shoot Jae Suk while they're in the main location.

Gary was also shot in the main location.

Look at Hyun Jin's "I'm winning" face.

Lastly, Ji Hyo was shot, boldly. Look at Kwang Soo noticing it. He was daring enough to shoot Ji Hyo in front of everyone since she's the last one.

Hyun Jin got his MT money for finishing his spy mission!

Here we have poor Suk Jin hyung thinking that he's close with Hyun Jin now since Hyun Jin put his arm around him back when they're getting gochujang. He now realized that it was just because of Hyun Jin's spy mission. Haha!

The PD asked Haha if they went to eat deokkbokki when they went shopping (because it was mentioned when Hyun Jin was revealed to be doing a different mission) and Haha answered funnily by saying that yes, they ate already, and can't eat anymore because of that. Hahaha!

They ended the episode by eating what they cooked! What a happy MT. I like this episode because it's one of those laid back episode where you just laugh and don't really care about who wins. I'm definitely liking this Ryu Hyun Jin trilogy of episodes. First, there was a hide-and-seek mission, a Running Man team mission where they're all in one group, and this laid back episode with the cooking! I really like seeing them eat and cook because it makes me want to cook Korean food all the more. It's a shame though, that I didn't get to see more of how they cooked their food and what it's made of. Nonetheless, really satisfying episode!

Next week's guests are..

It's really a must watch for Korean baseball fans out there since it's packed with Korean baseball celebrities.

More "Baseball 101" goodies on the next episode.

And yes, it's back! The superpowers game is back again! Admit it, we all love the superpowers episode, along with the soccer superpowers episode (with Park Ji Sung) and baseball superpowers episode (with Choo Shin Soo and Ryu Hyun Jin). I'm definitely looking forward to what new hilarious and unbelievable superpowers that the staff came up with this time.
