It's the Random Weekend: Bakit nga ba hindi ka crush ng crush mo? (based on true story.. charot!)

Babala: ang mga tao at pangyayari dito ay pawang likha lamang ng aking isipan... hihi

Nagsulat ako tungkol sa libro/pelikula na "Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo" noong Huwebes. Pero ang entry na ito ay hindi tungkol doon. Sabihin na nating lahat tayo ay naka-experience na ng ganito: yung hindi ka crush o gusto o even kilala ng crush mo. Alam natin yung feeling na kikiligin ka kapag daraan si crush sa harap mo, tapos kahit isang aksidenteng sulyap lang sa'yo e feeling mo na may gusto na siya/interesado na siya sa'yo. 

Bata pa lang tayo, ang tanong na sa atin ng mga nanay o ate o kuya natin e "Sino crush mo?" Aminin mo man o hindi, mayroon man talaga o wala, aasarin ka ng mga kaibigan at pamilya mo na nagkakacrush ka na. Tama ba? Huwag mong sabihing hindi nangyari sa'yo yan. Ngayon, ilang taon ka na ba? Fourteen? Eighteen? Twenty-one? Kahit anong edad mo pa, kung isa kang normal na tao, ay paniguradong may crush ka.

Sabi nga nila, ang exciting naman talaga sa pagkakaroon ng crush ay yung pagaaksayahan mo siya ng panahon mo, tapos kapag kaunting sabi lang niya ng pangalan mo ay kikiligin ka na. Exciting di ba? Hindi mo alam kung interesado siya o hindi, pero go ka pa rin!

Una sa lahat, paano mo ba malalaman kung interesado siya sa'yo? (O hindi)

1. Kahit anong effort sa pakikipag-flirt sa kanya ay successful.

Alam mo na, ang usual na pagiging touchy at being all eyes and ears kay crush ay effective talaga. Kung hindi siya lumayo, o mukhang na-weirduhan sa'yo, success! Alam mo na, may pag-asa ka. Pero huwag masyadong umasa, malay mo, friendly lang pala talaga siya. Hahaha!

Kapag patuloy ka naman na nakikipag-usap sa kanya while getting all touchy and interested at ang sagot lang niya ay "Oo nga," "Pwede rin," "Hindi naman," not so good ang impression mo. Pwede mo pang ituloy, kung sapat na sa'yo ang na mas marami pang kayang sabihin si Siri kasya sa crush mong walang kwenta. Haha!

2. Siya na ang unang lalapit sa'yo.

Sabihin na nating nasa gathering kayo ng mga friends of friends niyo, at alam mo na dadating siya kasi ini-stalk mo na ang Facebook o Twitter niya o di kaya naman pina-text mo na siya sa kaibigan mong may number niya kung pupunta ba sya. Pagkakita niya sa'yo e magha-hi na agad sa'yo at kakamustahin ka. Ayan tayo e, swerte mo na yan. Kuhanin mo na kasi ang number, gamiting dahilan ang similar interest niyo tulad ng table tennis o di kaya naman ay beerpong. Haha!

Pero kung pagkadating mo sa gathering niyo e nakita mo siya, nilapitan mo kaagad, at nag-hi ka, tapos biglang after ilang minutes ay nagpaalam na siya sa friends of friends niyo na uuwi na siya, nako. Dalawa lang yan. Either may gagawin pa siya (not likely) o iniiwasan ka na niya. (awtsu!)

3. Tuloy-tuloy ang conversations niyo hanggang sa maging close na kayo.

Oops, grabe na 'to ha. Talagang interesado na niyan si crush kapag kahit sa Facebook o text pa yan e magkausap kayo at biglang magseset pa siya ng lakad niyo na kayo lang dalawa. Nakaalis ka na sa pa-crush crush lang. Pwede ka na ngayong magpatweetums, o kaya naman magpa-miss. Hindi na yan sakop ng post na 'to kaya gorabells ka na!

Ngunit kung ikaw naman ay in-add mo na siya sa Facebook, finollow sa Twitter, hinanap ang Youtube channel, Ask.fm, at kung ano ano pang social networking sites na member siya, plus kinuha mo pa ang number niya sa kaibigan pero hindi mo naman mai-text, at minessage mo na sa FB pero na-'seen-zone' ka lang, itigil mo na yan. Ilang linggo mo na ba yan crush ha, two weeks? six months? Habang maaga pa, move on to the next crush nalang na pagaaksayahan ng energy sa panlalandi o pangii-stalk. Sayang lang ang oras mo sa douchebag o bi-atch na yan. Gora na at hanapin ang mas compatible na crush para sa'yo. Anong malay mo, kapag naka-move on ka na saka siya magiging interesado sa'yo at gawin mo ang lahat ng ginawa niya sayo! (wishful thinking lang haha)

Matapos ang lahat ng yan, kung naging successful ang pagkakaroon mo ng crush kay crush, e tuloy mo lang yan. At kung hindi naman, gaya ng sabi ko kanina ay move on na agad sa next crush bago pa maging bitterness ang nararamdaman mo. Kaya naman tayo nagkaka-crush para mas exciting ang lovelife, yung tipong hahanap ka nalang ng crush kaysa naman sitting pretty ka lang waiting for your knight in shining armor. Kaya kung maging bitterness yan, aba, mali na ang pinasok mo. I-brain wash ang sarili ng three to four times na hindi nangyari yun at hanap na ng bagong crush! Magmadali!

Ngayon, pano nga ba malalaman kung bakit hindi ka crush ng crush mo? 

I. Ayaw niya sa'yo.

Gaya ng unang chapter sa libro ni Ramon Bautista, isa sa mga pinaka-obvious na dahilan kung bakit hindi ka talaga crush ng crush mo e dahil ayaw niya sa'yo. Huwag mo nang ipilit, baka bigwasan ka na niyan. He's/she's not worth it.

II. You're out of his/her league.

Andami pang nalalaman na na ganyan, e para lang naman sa nagmamaganda/nagfeefeeling pogi yan. Kung feeling ng crush mo ay masyado siyang maganda/gwapo/sexy/ma-appeal para sa beauty mo, e, douchebag siya! Huwag mo nang ipagpilitan ang sarili mo sa mga taong ganyan ang pananaw. Malay mo, feeling din ng crush niya e he's/she's out of his/her league. Quits lang!

III. May gusto siyang iba.

Simple lang naman yan e. Gaya ng unang dahilan, ayaw niya sa'yo, posible dahil baka may gusto siyang iba. Minsan naman, hindi porke't may gusto siyang iba e ayaw niya na sayo. O kaya naman hindi porke't ayaw niya sa'yo e may gusto siyang iba. Malas mo lang kung ang sitwasyon mo e yung huli kong sinabi. Ang point ko rito ay hindi ka talaga mabibigyang pansin kapag iba ang laman ng isip at puso niya. Hintayin mo na lang na maggive-up siya sa crush niya, saka ka pumasok sa buhay niya. Anong malay mo, baka ikaw pa ang maghilom ng sugatan niyang puso? Haha!

Minsan, kung mamalasin ka talaga, lahat ng dahilan na sinabi ko e applicable sa'yo. Huwag ka nang magpakabitter, ginusto mo 'yan e. Mapapayo ko lang sa'yo ay move on, marami pa diyan ang mas worth ng stalking at flirting skills mo, kaysa sa crush mo na masyadong mataas ang standards na kahit siya, hindi pasok sa sariling standards niya. Hahaha!

P.S.

Marahil base ito sa mga karanasan ko, ng mga kaibigan ko o ng iba pang mga tao sa paligid ko. Puwede rin naman itong inspired by real events. Pero hindi ko naman masasabi na ang mga ito ay applicable sa lahat satin. May iba sigurong nakakarelate, pero may iba rin namang natatawa nalang sa mga nakasulat dito, kasi medyo parang bitter ang pagkasulat. Haha!

Reel Thursday: Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo? (Filipino film)

This is the first time that I'm going to write about a Filipino film in this blog. I've written reaction papers about certain box-office Filipino movies when I was in college but now's the first time that I'm actually writing just for fun. I wanted to write this in Filipino but I just decided that it would also be good if people of other nationalities would enjoy the story too.

Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo, in English means, "Why is it that your crush doesn't have a crush on you?" or simply "Reasons why your crush doesn't like you." This movie is an adaption of a kind of "self-help" book of the same title by social media personality, Ramon Bautista. I've actually finished the book a month after it was published, and I found it better than I had expected. There were some philosophical statements that Ramon mentioned in the book that I agree with. One example is "90 percent ng problema mo ay imbento mo lamang," which means "90 percent of your problems are those you create in your mind." Come on, think about it. It is true.

The movie, on the other hand, is a romantic comedy love story between a girl who's considered as an "Ugly Duckling" and a rich and handsome guy who helps her in getting over her bastard ex-boyfriend. To be honest, I had expected the story to be about some kind of college girl who has a crush on her classmate and ends up delaying her graduation because of the guy.. The reason why I think it should've been like that is because majority of the problems tackled in the book was about young people perhaps from high school to college level who are suffering from problems about love. Nonetheless, the movie was made already, and it has a different storyline than I had thought.

If it hadn't taken the title from Ramon Bautista's book, and inserted some of Ramon's advices to the youth about love, I would've just considered it as a normal Filipino film. Normal Filipino films are cheesy and pre-determined and by pre-determined I mean we can easily foresee what is going to happen next. In short, plot-wise, I was not satisfied with the story. The execution, however, is to my liking. I like the flow of the movie, the dialogue (despite the cheesiness of some), and the characters. Overall, it was an okay movie, and I don't have anything against it. It's your typical Filipino romance comedy that is fun and romantic, but very cheesy at the end.

Tuesday Running Man: Episode 158, What's Your Number?

The episode starts without Lee Kwang Soo, for the reason that he's busy with his drama filming schedule and that he will be coming late in the afternoon to join them. It's somehow funny looking at all of them because there's no one "standing out," since they're all almost the same height. The guests for this episode are Son Hyun Joo, Moon Jung Hee, and Jeon Mi Seon. I guess they went to Running Man to promote their new movie, "Hide and Seek."

It was then revealed that Kwang Soo wasn't actually going to be late filming Running Man, but he'll be playing a "lead role" in the first part of their games. The concept was "Lee Kwang Soo's Hide and Seek," to match the movie that the guests are promoting. Of course, Lee Kwang Soo was very happy to become a leading role in this episode because in all of his projects, he's just a side character. Although I don't really mind him being a side character because it really does suit him well and give a lot of energy to the characters that he play, I also want him to have a leading role in either a drama or a movie. 

Before filming the first part of the games, each had their own numbers assigned to them to be placed at the back of their name tags. This is for the final game, wherein they have to guess who had which numbers. In the mini games that will be played before that final one, the teams who win would get clues on who has which number.

The first part of the games is where Kwang Soo hides from the guests and finish the same missions as them. There were three rounds: five stones, jegichagi, and limbo. I found all of their games similar to usual Filipino kids' games, where five stones is equivalent to jackstone, jegichagi to sipa, and limbo to limbo rock. I also played these games when I was a kid and it was fun seeing them play these also, even though they already played them in previous episodes. The screen shot above is Gary's face when he first won the first round. He was like that because he forgot that they were supposed to let Kwang Soo finish first, and got carried away in playing five stones.

This was a funny bit in the first round also because it's when Son Hyun Joo couldn't believe that Yoo Jae Suk took off with some of his stones. You see, they resorted into doing these childish stuff in order for the guests to leave the "game zone" because Kwang Soo needs to succeed first in playing.

This time, Kim Jong Kook also took off with Son Hyun Joo's stones because he's good at playing five stones that he might succeed first. It was really funny how they disrupted the guests when they were playing because it seemed so childish. However, they were all doing that for Kwang Soo and it's really sweet in the eyes of the viewers but really childish for the guests. May I add that it's so cute that all of Kwang Soo's hyungs and noona took care of him in that one segment? It's usually Kwang Soo who's being bullied but in this short while, he's being treated as a proper maknae.

The second round was jegichagi, and with much effort, Kwang Soo also succeeded while the other members made the guests run around the area so that Kwang Soo could do his task. In the third round, it was hard for the members to let Kwang Soo have a turn in the limbo so what they did was make a VJ do the limbo so that Kwang Soo, disguised as a VJ, could get a turn. He was under the name Soo Cheol and as you can see in the screen shot above, the two lady guests, Moon Jung Hee and Jeon Mi Soon, were cheering "Soo Cheol" on.

It was getting kind of weird and funny that the supposedly VJ Soo Cheol took many turns in doing the limbo yet the guests haven't really noticed anything. The fact that Son Hyun Joo knew Kwang Soo well was even funnier because he didn't notice that "Soo Cheol" was Kwang Soo.

With "Soo Cheol" deceiving the guests, all of the Running Man members won. The RM members each got a clue in order to find out who has which number. Son Hyun Joo got angry at Kwang Soo for fooling them, so he got hit many times.

In the next part of the games, they were divided into three teams. Whichever team wins the game would get the most advantageous clue, but the other teams would also get clues but of different levels.

The game to be played is hopscotch, but with the accupressure mats from hell. The mats have leveled up and according to the members, it gives a different kind of pain than those that they've used before. Again, it's a game which every Filipino kid played during their childhood (minus the mats) and the Filipino version is called piko.

The yellow team, which consists of Lee Kwang Soo, Moon Jung Hee, and Ji Suk Jin, won in this game of hopscotch. They get to have the most advantageous clue.

The third part of the games was only briefly shown where they had to disguise and do a mission in a market place. Kwang Soo becoming a village idiot was so funny (even if it wasn't really shown) that I had to add it here.

The final game was the number guessing game, where they had to sit in hanging chairs above water. Dong Wan FD will draw a number and in order of their arrival, the members had to answer who that drawn number was assigned to. If he/she gets it right, the person who has that drawn number would fall in the water. On the other hand, if he/she gets it wrong, he/she will fall in the water.

They had to base their answers off the clues of course, so it's still based on luck and what clues they got. When they were discussing about what clues they got, I was sure of what number one person had already and that is Kang Gary. 

In this scene, They were taunting Lee Kwang Soo because they knew that he will fall down because they knew what number he had, and the person guessing also got it right.

Kim Jong Kook and Son Hyun Joo were the last contenders, but Kim Jong Kook failed to answer right and so Son Hyun Joo automatically won.

He won three gold rings, and frankly, I was disappointed that he didn't give the other two rings to the two girls who went with her on the show.

Overall, it was a normal episode which gave me a lot of laughter. It didn't disappoint me but it wasn't that amazing either. I was kind of expecting a lot from the Lee Kwang Soo lead role thing but I guess better luck next time, kirin! I expected mainly because Ji Suk Jin got his second main character episode again last week but this time, I was proud of him even though he didn't win unlike his Sherlock episode. I want to see more Running Man vs Guests though, wherein Running Man would win. Haha!

This time I'm excited again for the next episode because there are many guests, and it's a couple race! I expect it to be rowdy yet fun to watch. Until next episode~

It's the Random Weekend: Buwan ng Wika (Language Month)

Ako ay Pilipino, bagama't ang blog na ito ay malimit na nakasulat sa Ingles, ngayong buwan ng wika ay magaalay ako ng isang artikulo na nakasulat gamit ang Filipino. Noong tayo'y mga bata pa sa elementarya, halos kada buwan ay may selebrasyon at mayroong mga aktibidades na ginagawa para sa mga estudyante. Kadalasan ay may mga sayawan, kantahan, at palaruan. Hinding-hindi naman makakalimutan ng bawat paaralan ang Buwan ng Wika dahil ito'y isang selebrasyon na alay sa ating wikang Filipino. Ang buwan ng Agosto ang tinaguriang buwan ng wika at sa buwan na ito ay hinihikayat ng bawat paaralan na gamitin at isapuso ang ating wika. Kadalasan kasi sa mga eskwelahan ay hinihikayat na magsalita ng Ingles ang mga estudyante kaya nama't tuwing Agosto ay nagkakaroon ng selebrasyon ng wikang Filipino.

Sa mga panahon na ganito, na tapos na sa kolehiyo, o kahit sa kolehiyo pa lamang ay hindi na madalas ang selebrasyon na alay sa wikang Filipino. Ang kasaysayan pa nga ng Pilipinas ay kalimitang itinuturo gamit ang wikang Ingles. Samakatuwid, hindi na natin gaano nabibigyang importansya ang ating wika. Kahit na sabihin nating Filipino pa rin ang ating gamit sa pananalita sa pang-araw-araw, madalas nating gamitin ang mga salitang Ingles kaysa sa wikang Filipino. Iba pa rin ang pagiging dedikado sa pananalita o sa pagsulat sa wikang Filipino na kahit na minsan ay may halong ibang lenggwahe ay nararamdaman pa rin na Filipino ang pananalita ng isang tao. Sa katunayan nga ay ilang beses na akong gumamit ng Google Translate upang siguraduhin na ang mga kahulugan ng mga ginagamit kong salita ay tama at nasa ayos. Minsan nama'y hindi ko talaga maalala kung ano ang Filipino ng salitang Ingles na aking gustong gamitin. 

Ano ba ang gusto kong patunayan sa pagsulat ng artikulong ito? Ang nais ko lang naman ay maipamahagi at maipaalala sa ibang taong nakakabasa ng artikulong ito na huwag natin kalimutan ang ating sariling wika sa kabila ng ating pagmamahal at pagtangkilik sa mga bagay bagay na galing ibang bansa. Kahit na ako'y mahilig sa mga bagay na Hapon o Koreano, hindi ko maipagkakaila na mahal ko pa rin ang aking bansa. Kahit na hindi ako nasisiyahan sa mga nangyayari dito sa Pilipinas, naiintindihan ko ito dahil ang bawat bansa ay may kanya-kanyang suliranin at mas mabuti nang hindi tayo kuntento sa nangyayari dahil patuloy nating gagawan ng paraan at patuloy tayong magsisikap para sa kaunlaran at kagandahan ng ating bansa.

Isang pagsasabuhay ng aking paglalaan ng panahon para sa ating bansa at sa Buwan ng Wika, bagama't maliit lamang, ay ang aking pagtangkilik sa isang lokal na manunulat na si Ricky Lee. Aking binabasa ang kanyang nobela na "Para Kay B." Hindi ko pa ito natatapos ngunit base sa aking mga nabasa na, ito'y nakakatuwa at nagpapalawak ito ng kaisipan hindi lamang ukol sa pag-ibig pati na rin sa buhay. Natutuwa ako na may mga ganito pang mga aklat na nakasulat sa Filipino. Sana ay patuloy pa ang pagsusulat ng mga awtor sa wikang Filipino at patuloy natin pang tangkilikin ito.
